Do not forget the weekly release , delayed politics of home , takes a backseat , and entertainment takes on a whole new meaning is that time of year . The cricketmad for our nation , like it or not , IPL, all the rage at the moment .
Official Pepsi IPL 2013 Developed by Times Internet Limited, the Official Pepsi IPL 2013 is exactly what it claims to be – the official app of the T20 cricketing bonanza. Quite simply, it’s the best app of the lot giving you every information  of a game before, during and after its play. The interface is easy to get around, no major issues here, and all the sections – Latest, Schedule, Teams, Points and More – are clearly demarcated
along a strip running down its bottom. On a game day, you can either check the latest update, plan ahead for a fixture that you don’t want to miss, get all the jazz on the team of your choice, or check the points tally
through the app’s tabs. The fifth tab, ‘More’ lets you segregate  information based on three content types: news, videos and photos. This app provides you with access to the best content, especially video, across any other apps listed here. The inclusion  of social media features is also a thoughtful inclusion. Its only irritating feature is the in-app advertising, which takes away from the overall experience. Also, the app is a bit sluggish. It’s available on Android, BB 10  and iOS, so do check it out.

Yahoo! Cricket :Being a full-fledged cricket  app, Yahoo! Cricket doesn’t just limit itself to the ongoing IPL T20 competition, keeping you abreast of what’s new in the world of cricket (not just IPL). This app is available for free on  the Windows, iOS and Android marketplaces and offers a slew of features and user-friendly interactions for the user to
follow live matches, while also  keeping a tab on the recent and upcoming ones. The app is the first to offer
a complete match experience in a variety of ways – with live scores, detailed ball-by-ball commentary
(which can be filtered by wickets, 4s and 6s), an interactive scorecard which allows the user to browse through the  batting line-up, fall of wickets and a complete chronology of how a match progressed. With this app from Yahoo!  Cricket, users can now catch all international matches onthe- go. On a non-match day,
the app will connect the user  to specially created photo galleries, latest news articles on the game, player and team profiles, results of completed matches and schedules of upcoming ones. The app is minimalistically
designed and performs  very well. All in all, a nice addition to Yahoo’s app family.ESPN Cricinfo As far as covering all things cricket is concerned, no one does a better job than the folks over at ESPN Cricinfo – we’ve been  fans of the original Cricinfo long before it was taken over by ESPN.They have a great international staff churning out quality content around the world of cricket. And their app helps you get a taste of that magic on your tablet or smartphone. Download it on your Android, iOS or Windows  Phone device and fire it up. In  its Android avatar, the app  loads up immediately. For some  reason, the app is listed under the name “LIVE Cricket Scores and News” when you look it up in Google Play Store. Ensure
that you click on the world map icon on the top bar to trigger a  drop-down and select “IN” or India. After applying this filter, and since its IPL season here,  you’ll see predominantly IPLrelated  content. The avigation
is pretty simple with main categories  of Score, News, Special, and Video. Apart from ball-byball commentary with graphics, live game switcher, full screen mode, scores, match photos and access to tournament tables and player profiles from every  international and IPL game, you can also configure push notifications to get instant alerts for  wickets, batsman milestones and score updates during live matches. ESPN Cricinfo hardly puts a foot wrong and this is a  great all-rounder app for the  mobile cricket fan.

IPL Cricket  Fever 2013: If all the IPL action is getting too cumbersome to keep track of, maybe it’s time to blow some steam off by playing the  official game of IPL 2013.  Developed by Disney UTV’s Indiagames, the game is fun to play on  a tablet or smartphone, with very simple game mechanics. The objective
is to select from three  game modes and score as many runs as possible as a batsman. A combination
of swiping motions  across your device’s screen and the hitting of the right buttons is all it takes to have fun in this addictive in-hand IPL  game. A short tutorial quickly brings you up to speed with the simple playing style. We quickly found out that even at lesser difficulty levels, hitting fours and sixes isn’t exactly a piece of cake as  you have to be quite precise in your screen-swipe timings and direction. All this adds to the overall experience of the game, making it more awesome. The 3D graphics of the game are quite good and the resemblance of IPL teams in their virtual avatar  has been well executed. There’salso a multi-player mode in the game which you must check out  for bragging rights. The game also bundles an assortment of ad banners and in-app purchasessuch as dancing cheerleaders.  Who doesn’t want to see them at an IPL game?

IPL : If you’re on an iOS device, be it the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, this is a special app for you
to keep track of the IPL  this season. It claims to be the official BCCI  app for Apple’s iTunes store, giving you live  ball-by-ball action of the IPL games as and when they’re underway. Being an app developed
for iOS, the IPL app  is great to look at and loads smoothly without a hitch. Not only does the  app provide you with the latest results and buzz surrounding a match, it also gives you detailed summary and related articles to ensure you’re on top of every stroke from your favourite team or player.Probably the most important feature of this app is its hawkeye analysis tool, which lets you admire and scrutinize balls before being bowled in great detail the same way television broadcasters let you. If you’re on iOS, don’t wait and just give  this app a try.

nexGTv: nexGTv (available on Android,iOS and Symbian) is a live TV streaming app which lets you watch a whole host of television  channels on your handheld mobile device. This app is also the official IPL partner to stream live games (yes, like the exact same feed that you see on the tele) directly on to your smartphone for a nominal price. The games’ feed is just fine when viewed through a Wi-Fi or 3G connection, but video  quality degrades when viewed on EDGE only.
