FCC Docs Show Sprint LTE Compatable HTC Windows Phone 8 Device
We’ve known for some time that Sprint has been planning on carrying a few Windows Phone 8 handsets this summer, specifically the Samsung Ativ S and the HTC Tiara, and a new FCC filing points to an imminent launch of at least one of those devices. The filing shows a Windows Phone 8 powered HTC device, which looks to be the oft rumored HTC Tiara. While the Tiara has yet to be officially announced, a picture from a FCC document shows a device named HTC PO88100, which has support for CDMA as well as Sprint compatible LTE 25.
While official specs are still unknown, the HTC Tiara is expected to tout a 4.3 inch WVGA display, NFC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, an 8 MP rear-facing camera as well as a 1.6 MP front-facing shooter.
Since the HTC Tiara’s specs are decidedly mid-range, Sprint should be able to offer the device for an affordable price when it is announced later this year, and we may see a name change as well.
