Lenovo launches six new smartphones, starting from Rs 8,689
Shifting its focus to the smartphone segment, Lenovo launched six new smartphones in the Indian market on Wednesday (June 5). They are meant for different customer segments, ranging from the entry-level device for Rs 8,689 and going up to Rs 32,999 for the high-end one. Given the growing demand for quad-core processors in Android smartphones, four of these six new phones run on quad-core processors.
The high-end smartphone, the K900, has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display in a slim brushed metal chassis with 6.9mm thickness. It is uses a 2.0 GHz dual core chipset from Intel. It has a 13MP Exmor R camera and comes with features such as ‘USB-on-the-go’.
Another model, the P780 is focused at professionals. It packs a 1.4 GHz quad core processor along with a 4000 mAh battery. Yet another, the S920, with a 5.3-inch IPS display, an 8MP camera and a 1.2GHz quad core processor, is pitched as an entertainment device.
The S820 features a 1.2GHz quad core processor and a 12MP camera. The A706 is powered by a 1GHz quad core processor and has a 4.5-inch display. The most affordable of the lot is the A390 featuring a 4-inch capacitive display with a 5MP camera.
“Our retail footprint has grown considerably to 3000 retail stores since we launched our first smartphone last year. We will continue to expand our reach across India”, says Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India.
