Apple iWatch Will Come in 2014 Stuffed With Biometrics Mechanism
CEO Tim Cook, Apple, hasn’t come up with a killer device in the last few months. The Cupertino-based tech giant current has $145 billion cash in hand. Despite that Apple failed to announce a glorified device to counter Samsung. What next for Apple ? Industry is anxiously waiting to see iWatch, a wearable computer, to get unveiled later this year. It is believed that more than 100 engineers are working on Apple’s dream project – iWatch. Earlier this year The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and The New York Times, all three top publications published something or other in regards to so-called iWatch. Back in February, it was revealed that Apple may like to feature curved glass to make the iWatch different from Samsung’s Galaxy watch. Now, a senior analyst has come up in open, and expressed his views on iWatch. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been an active talker in Apple space, believes that iWatch is still far away.( via Apple Insider) Apple iWatch Will Come in 2014 Stuffed With Biometrics Mechanism “Apple may not have adequate resources to develop an iWatch version of iOS because it may require big changes to iPhone and iPad iOS this year. In addition, wearable device components aren’t mature. For these reasons, we think mass production of the iWatch is more likely to begin in 2H14, not 2H13 as the market speculates”. He [Ming Chi Juo] predicts that the iWatch would come in either 1.5-inch or 2-inch screen size. It could be very similar to iPad Nano in terms of design and styling. “Currently, the iPod nano uses the same GF2 touch technology as used by the iPad mini. Since the size and computing ability requirements of the iWatch are similar to those of the iPod nano, we think iWatch will use iPod nano’s GF2 touch technology and AP [application processor].” Apple iWatch Will Come in 2014 Stuffed With Biometrics Mechanism “Investors shouldn’t be misled by the word ‘Watch’. We think iWatch will not be positioned as a time-telling device, nor as a device that displays information from other Apple products,” Kuo writes. “We are positive on the iWatch because its wearable design is helpful for offering more secure user identification and biometrics functionality.” So, Apple’s dream watch will be equipped with some sort of Biometrics mechanism to strengthen security.
