LG Optimus Zone, Optimus Exceed land at Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless has recently expanded its offering of low-cost smartphones for prepay customers with the addition of LG’s Optimus Zone and Optimus Exceed.
The first of the two is a slightly different version of last year’s LG Optimus L3. It comes with a rather small 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel rear camera, 800MHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable storage, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. Further updates are not planned and I guess we shouldn’t expect them from a phone that costs just $79.99 sans any strings attached.
As for the Optimus Exceed, it too is a different version of an existing handset – LG Lucid. Specs wise, this device won’t “exceed” anyone’s expectations, rocking a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GB of RAM, 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera. And again, just like the Optimus Zone, the Exceed doesn’t come with the latest version of Android – it’s stuck at Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and it’s likely it won’t go beyond that. The LG Optimus Exceed will sell for $129.99.
Both the LG Optimus Zone and LG Optimus Exceed should already be available in Verizon stores…
