EE announces 30 day SIM-only 4G tariffs
UK MOBILE OPERATOR EE announced its first 30 day rolling SIM 4G tariffs on Wednesday, and they are probably just as expensive as you’d expect.
In November EE launched its 12 month SIM-only plans, although customers were quick to criticise the firm for not launching a 30 day alternative. However, EE finally launched its first 30 day rolling SIM-only tariffs today, although given the pricing of the plans its customers are unlikely to stop moaning just yet.
For 500MB of data per month – probably enough to watch a couple of Youtube videos – along with unlimited minutes and unlimited texts, EE is charging users £23 a month. While this doesn’t sound too bad, it’s worth noting that those signing up for a 30 day SIM-only tariff probably will have already forked out around £500 on a 4G enabled smartphone, be it an iPhone 5 or a Samsung Galaxy S4.
EE’s 30 day plans are also available in 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 8GB and 20GB data versions, which EE has priced at £28, £33, £38, £43 and, wait for it…, £63 a month, respectively.
These tariffs might seem ridiculously pricey, but EE seems pretty proud of itself. Simeon Bird, director of propositions at EE said, “It’s our ambition to provide consumers with the most comprehensive range of 4GEE plans possible. With these new 30 day options, we’re pleased to be providing an even more flexible way to access 4G.”
For those with deep pockets, EE’s 30 day rolling SIM-only tariffs are available now both in-store and online.
